24/09/2020 MCQC Trainers Resource

The trainers skills and drills resource for the level 1 syllabus has now been developed and access is free for all trainers whose certification is up to date. Certification can be gained by completing the level 1 trainers course. This will give you 12 months access to the resource. Whenever a trainer attends a training day they will be reassessed and recertified. This will then automatically reset the clock and give them another 12 months free access.

The resource currently provides background information on the history and rationale behind the MCQC concept. It also provides:

• A history and rationale behind the MCQC concept.
• The key differences between combat survival and martial arts
• Key principles
• The OPTIC response model
• Basic skills and the relative positions
• Target hardening drills
• Immediate action drills
• Failure drills

You need to practice control in order to exercise control

The intention is to gradually build up the resource adding training drills and other elements trainers can use to improve and maintain their own skills base. This will also help to maintain standards and consistency as the training expands more widely
